PACOIMA, Calif. — Harrison graphite shafts landed two Top 10 positions, including a second-place tie, at the Masters Tournament at Augusta National. The two-time Top 10 performance was a strong showing for Harrison shafts which have earned a well-deserved reputation on Tour for delivering accuracy and consistency.
One of the Top 10 pros, PGA veteran Rory Sabbatini played Harrison’s Pro 2.5 shaft in his driver and the Harrison Impulse TR shaft in his hybrid club.
"More than 500 yards longer and extremely stingy on scoring, this wasn’t the same Augusta National course we’ve seen in previous years. Nevertheless, Harrison shafts delivered an outstanding performance," said Arnie Cunningham, Harrison’s representative on the PGA TOUR. "In fact, this is the second straight major event in which Harrison took the runner-up status."
The Harrison Pro 2.5 and Striper Long Drive shafts and the Harrison Impulse hybrid models made a big impression at this year’s Masters. Many PGA professionals prefer the Harrison Pro 2.5 graphite shaft because is provides superior distance and accuracy, while the Striper Long Drive shaft is also a proven winner on the pro tours. The Harrison Pro 2.5 and Striper Long Drive series shafts are composed of boron reinforced X-6200 graphite and feature torques ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 degrees. Harrison Pro 2.5 shafts are available in 50- to 70-gram options with flexes ranging from L/A to S/X. The Striper Long Drive shaft is available in 70-gram (S/X, X/2X flex).
The Harrison Impulse TR hybrid shaft incorporates a patent-pending Inlay Titanium Matrix — a thin layer of titanium wrapped around the shaft’s tip section to increase stability, improve accuracy and to reduce shaft torque. In addition, the Impulse possesses a lower balance point and produces a higher launch angle to get the ball into the air more easily. Impulse shafts are available as a Fairway Wood (80 grams, 44-inch length, 3.2 degrees torque) or Utility Iron (90 grams, 42-inch length and 2.2 degrees torque).
