ATLANTA, GA (April 10, 2007) – U.S. Kids Golf has announced a series of competitive events designed to give youngsters opportunities to develop their golf skills and test their games at top courses near their hometowns this spring and summer.
The one-day events, which are open to boys and girls 12 and under, are played on regulation courses that have been shortened through the use of age- and gender-appropriate tees placed closer to the hole to promote enjoyment of the game, better scoring and competition. As in all U.S. Kids sponsored events, parents are encouraged to caddie for their sons and daughters.
Additional details and an online registration form are at www.uskidsgolf.com.
Local Tours have been confirmed for 2007 in 22 areas, including Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Boca Raton, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus (OH), Dallas, Memphis, Michigan, Nashville, New Jersey, North Carolina, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Antonio, Tampa, Ventura County (CA) and West Palm Beach. Additional Tours in other markets also may be added in the coming weeks, according to U.S. Kids Golf.
Players earn points based on their finish at each event. The player with the most points in each age and gender group at the end of the Tour season will be named Player of the Year and receive an exemption to the 2008 U.S. Kids Golf World Championship at Pinehurst.
Through the Personal Teeâ?¢ Golf Learning Program and its Local Tours, Regional Championships, World Championship Qualifiers and the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship, U.S. Kids Golf provides opportunities for instruction and competition for thousands of kids throughout the U.S. and worldwide.
