Athens, Ga., April 4, 2007 – The LPGA Tournament Owners Association (TOA) announced today Gail Graham as the new TOA President, effective May 15th. Gail is a former LPGA Tour Player and President of the LPGA Executive Committee. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Lamar University.
As TOA President Graham will be responsible for implementing and participating in the development of policies for the association comprised exclusively of LPGA tournaments. Additionally, she will maintain an ongoing dialogue with the LPGA regarding Tour policies, conduct research and disseminate information for and about tournaments and sponsors. Communications, operations and television issues will be key in her new position.
Chairman of the Board Jack Benjamin (LPGA Corning Classic) described Gail as a passionate, very caring, can-do person who has had a life-long career in association with the LPGA. "She brings a keen business sense to the TOA that goes hand in hand with experience not only as an LPGA professional player, but also her past leadership as President of the LPGA Executive Committee", Benjamin said. "We are looking forward to Gail joining the TOA and developing and supporting programs that benefit all the LPGA stakeholders".
