AUGUSTA, GA (April 9, 2007) – The 2007 Masters Champion carried a Sonartec

SS-3.5 15 degree fairway metal to capture the first major championship of the season. On only his third trip to The Masters, the champion posted a 3-under-par 69 on Sunday to finish 2 shots ahead of a star packed leader board at the 71st Masters tournament. The Iowa native parlayed his exceptional ball striking skills to shoot a 3-under-par 33 on the back nine on Sunday to close out the win.

"For the last seven years, the best players in the world have continued to trust Sonartec Golf," said Toru Kamatari, Sonartec President. "With the ongoing changes in golf technology, Sonartec has not wavered from its core ball flight-control technology and continues to be played by Major Champions," says Kamatari.

The Champion played the Sonartec SS-3.5, which is the twelfth model to win on the PGA Tour. The SS-3.5 and SS-2.5, Sonartec’s deep-face, low-launch and mid-face, mid-launch fairway woods, feature the ST-385 "Hot Face" alloy and are available at all major retailers. Sonartec’s superior perimeter weighting system tightens dispersion on errant shots while providing a lower launch angle and maximum power transfer. The GS Tour, Sonartec’s newest fairway metal, produces a high-launch and low-spin ball flight which will help the mid to high handicappers to get the ball airborne while providing the penetrating distance low handicappers and professional-level players demand.

Sonartec Golf, a Carlsbad-based company, is a pioneer in the fairway metal and hybrid market, and recently introduced the classic forged t35 model wedge with Yoyo Groovesâ?¢. Their innovative Driving Cavity technology produces extremely forgiving, high performance equipment designed for golfers of all skill levels including women and seniors. In less than seven years the company has recorded more than 92 worldwide wins, including two British Opens and a Masters.
