OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Players Turf Systems was chosen as the synthetic surface for the practice area at Trump National in Bedminster, N.J.
"We had made the decision at the end of last year to go with a synthetic surface in the area where our members practice," said Trump National Head Professional Mickey Gallagher. "Mr. Trump wanted the best surface we could get, so I visited all the booths at the PGA Merchandise Show where they had synthetic surfaces and hit balls off it. We found that Players Turf Systems had absolutely the best. Mr. Trump personally made the decision."

The installation of the Players Turf Systems Tee Line, assured Trump National members of two things according to Gallagher.
"We have an extremely large three tier practice area and it’s always very busy," he said. "From an agronomy standpoint, this will greatly reduce the stress to the grass and will maintain the base. We’ll be able to use the Players Turf Systems Tee Line area for junior clinics and clinics for beginning golfers and not damage the tee area for the more experienced golfers. Also, we’ll be able to operate in inclement weather where we had to close the entire facility before."
Sever feels that the members will appreciate management’s decision to install the Players Turf Systems Tee Line the more they use it.
"I believe they’ll find that the Tee Line will be more consistent than grass," he said. "They’ll find that their practice sessions will be more beneficial than before. They also won’t have to worry about digging up the tee area with iron shots. The area will look better and last longer."
