SUNLAND, Calif. — Long Drive players are gearing up for the all-new CGCC Long Drive Pro-Am, and the Proforce V2 Long Drive ‘LD’ graphite shaft by UST® (United Sports Technologies) and distributed by Horsepower Golf will be in the bags of many of the crowd favorites.
The new-for-2007 long drive competition will be held at the Cherokee Golf & Country Club in Cedartown, Ga., on April 27, 2007 and delivers a $20,000 purse, based on a 32-man field. Pat Dempsey, the 2002 RE/MAX World Long Drive Senior Champion and the 2005 ALDA senior champion, has registered to compete at the CGCC and he will be playing a Proforce V2 shaft that is already paying off big dividends. Last month, Dempsey earned second-place in the senior division with a 343-yard drive at the Desert Launch event in Mesquite, Nev.
