Jacquelin Plays TaylorMade TP Red Golf Ball and Wears adidas TOUR360 II Golf Shoe En Route to Victory; Laird Ranks No. 1 in Both Driving Distance and Driving Accuracy While Winning for the First time on the Nationwide Tour
CARLSBAD, Calif. (April 24, 2007) – TaylorMade-adidas Tour Staff professionals Raphaël Jacquelin and Martin Laird each won tour events this past weekend in dominant fashion. Jacquelin, who recently switched to the TaylorMade TP Red golf ball and into adidas TOUR360 II footwear, shot a 10-under-par 278 to complete a wire-to-wire victory at the BMW Asia Open in China. Laird’s win at the Athens Regional Foundation Classic was equally dominant as he cruised to a 16-under par victory to become the Nationwide Tour’s first wire-to-wire winner this season.
Jacquelin Cruises to His 2nd European Tour Victory
Jacquelin joins Justin Rose, Retief Goosen and Peter Hedblom as players who have won on the European Tour this year after switching to the new TaylorMade TP ball. TaylorMade is currently the fastest growing golf ball brand on tour*.
The TaylorMade TP golf ball is available in two models, TaylorMade TP Blackâ?¢ and TaylorMade TP Redâ?¢. Each feature a multi-layer ionomer mantle positioned between a thermoset urethane cover and super-fast NdV4 core to promote ultra-fast ball speed and tour-level spin control. Plus, the PDP dimple design helps extend the back-half of the ball’s flight for increased carry. TP Red promotes a slightly lower launch angle for control and softer feel; TP Black promotes a higher launch angle for increased carry and a slightly firmer feel. Further information on the TP Red and TP Black.
Jacquelin also became the first player to win on the European Tour while wearing adidas Golf’s new TOUR360 II golf shoes, which were launched on the European Tour earlier this year at The Open de Portugal. The performance advancements incorporated into the TOUR360 II were inspired by feedback from adidas Golf’s Tour Staff athletes. Eight distinct technologies allow the TOUR360 II to deliver a level of performance never before available in golf footwear. Further information on the TOUR360 II.
