CELEBRATION, FL – Mystic Dunes â?¢ Golf Club today announced that it has been chosen as the kick off location for the first annual Victory Golf Tour. The Victory Golf Tour is a new, high-profile women’s professional golf tour which will officially begin in 2008. The tour will be held in eight southeastern markets from Florida to Maryland during it first season starting at Mystic Dunes in Orlando.
As part of the Victory Golf Tour, the not-for-profit Global Victory Tour Foundation is being developed and will support The Clean Water Drive, a nonprofit initiative that will promote clean water, wetlands conservation and biodiversity on golf courses. The Foundation will also focus its efforts towards increasing opportunities to improve the health and wellness of young women and girls through the game of golf.
As part of the announcement press conference Monday at Mystic Dunes, award-winning actress Shirley Jones received the Global Victory Tour Foundation’s first "Lifetime Achievement" award. Also on hand was former PGA professional golfer Lee Elder.
