ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL – The 14th Annual ING Media Awards program will recognize First-Place finishers and Outstanding Achievement winners at the 17th Annual ING Spring Conference June 3-7 at Turning Stone Resort & Casino.
The International Network Of Golf, a non-profit, media-based networking organization, conducts this annual gathering of golf industry executives and the media, and the media awards program.
The ING Spring Conference is open to anyone in the golf industry, golf-related businesses and media. Entries must be received in the ING office by Wednesday, May 9 in order for companies and individuals to be included in the conference materials.
Among the sponsors for this year’s ING Media Awards are Explanar, Nicklaus Golf, TaylorMade-adidas Golf and Tour Edge Golf. Each has sponsored one of a dozen categories in the awards program. The awards will be presented during the Monday Night Banquet & Fashion Show.
ING goes to great lengths to keep the contest fair and without bias:
â?¢ A Category Chair is assigned for each category by the ING Media Awards committee. That person is responsible for selecting three judges for his/her specific category. Chairs are asked to find judges outside of ING membership if at all possible.
â?¢ All entries are stripped of by-lines and other identifying marks BEFORE they are sent to the Category Chair, who then forwards entries to each judge. So even the Category Chairs do not know the identities.
The ING Conference places emphasis on individuals doing business with the right people, and on information sharing and product awareness.
The Demo Lab, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, June 5, attracts companies with golf equipment or training products. Products are displayed for attendees, mainly members of the golf media, to test and compare.
Companies already committed for the Demo Lab include AccuSport, Bob Burns Golf, Element 21, Nicklaus Golf, Nike Golf, Razor Golf, Sonartec, TaylorMade-adidas, Tour Edge and Trion-Z, among others.
They will also take part in the One-On-One Appointment Show earlier that day. This show features private meetings between exhibitors and attendees of their choice, 15 minutes at a time. During these sessions, business relationships are developed or nurtured and interviews take place.
There will be several educational sessions:
1) How To Get The Most Out Of The Internet – Sreenath "Sree" Sreenivasan, Dean of Students at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and WNBC’s tech reporter, will give the Keynote Address on this topic. Sreenivasan travels the world discussing new media trends such as blogs and web surfing.
