Site will incorporate business content free of charge
ORLANDO, Fla., (May 1, 2007) – Golfweek magazine launched a redesign of its Web site, Golfweek.com. The new site incorporates Golfweek’s exclusive business content and features live scoring, discussion boards, video and expanded golf lifestyle content.
"The relaunch of Golfweek.com has been several months in the making," said Dave Seanor, vice president/editor of Golfweek. "The goal was to provide users with more golf news and features, deliver that information faster and package it in a format that’s easy to navigate. As a result, the game’s most comprehensive independent Web site has taken a quantum leap forward."
New features to the redesigned Web site include:
â?¢ Golfweek’s exclusive business content, which was previously only available with an annual $99 subscription, has been incorporated into the new site free of charge
â?¢ Live scoring of PGA Tour, LPGA, Champions Tour, Nationwide Tour and PGA European Tour events, plus real time scoring of college tournaments provided by Golfstat
â?¢ Online community discussion boards
â?¢ Exclusive Golfweek video content integrated throughout the site
â?¢ Expanded golf lifestyle content including golf fashion, equipment, instruction, travel and the mental game
"Since our launch in 1999, we’ve relaunched the site just once in the spring of 2005, so this relaunch is overdue especially when considering the significant content we have added via our video production department," said Terry Olson, vice president/publisher of Golfweek. "The new Golfweek.com will utilize the latest in technology that will bring our video assets to the forefront and will better organize the content for an enhanced end user experience. It is our goal to grow Golfweek.com thru strategic partnerships and to make Golfweek.com the portal to additional content hosted on GolfweekTV and GolfweekHomes.com. We are very excited about the new features on the website and feel that we have successfully combined our various resources to create the leading Web site in golf."
"On April 2 the Wall Street Journal commented of Golfweek.com that ‘Of all the magazine Web sites, this one is the most user-friendly and informative.’ " said Al Snow, director of marketing for Golfweek. "We are not resting on our laurels, and we are continuing to improve Golfweek.com to ensure it remains the industry leader."
