Acclaimed Amenity of the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort & Hotel Again Garners this Distinction
(WORLEY, Idaho) – Circling Raven Golf Club – the rising star amenity of the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort & Hotel – has again been named to the ZAGAT Survey listing of "America’s Top Golf Courses."
This is the second consecutive edition in which Circling Raven has been so honored by ZAGAT Survey; it was also included in the 2005-06 Top Golf Courses list. This is quite an achievement considering the course’s first full season wasn’t until 2004.
Among the most thorough rating guides in all of golf, ZAGAT covers 1,075 of the best courses in the United States, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Courses in the guide are rated based on the responses of more than 6,250 reviewers who play more than 560,000 rounds annually. Strength of layout, value, overall quality, facility and service standards are taken into consideration.
Circling Raven scored 29, 26, 27 and 28, respectively – on a 30-point scale – in the ZAGAT Survey rating categories of "Course," "Facilities," "Service," and "Value." Any score that falls between 26 to 30 ZAGAT assigns the distinction "extraordinary to perfection."
"Circling Raven, the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel are honored to be identified as an elite golf club in America," says CDA Casino Resort Hotel CEO David LaSarte. "It is a great tribute to Director of Golf David Christenson, Superintendent Brian Woster and their staffs, and golf course architect Gene Bates."
In addition to appearing in the list of the nation’s top courses, Circling Raven was cited for excellence in numerous ZAGAT subcategories including:
Pace of Play

About Circling Raven Golf Club
Owned and operated by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe and convenient to Spokane (WA) airport, the resort and golf club are nestled on a reservation covering 345,000 acres of mountains, lakes, old-growth forest and farmland. The resort spans the western edge of the northern Rocky Mountains.
Tribal history also tells us that Circling Raven was a spiritually powerful leader, his name coming from his close relationship to the raven, who helped guide him on his journeys, warn him of danger and show him where to find fish and game.
Circling Raven was created amid a unique blend of wetlands, grasslands and woodlands. At 7,189 yards, the par 72 championship layout meanders through 620 acres, only 100 representing cultivated ground. Wildlife is abundant, including elk, deer, moose and an occasional black bear. In fact, the opening was delayed due to damage on two greens by migrating elk.
