ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL – BusinessWeek’s Atlanta Bureau Chief Dean Foust will be a workshop leader at the 17th Annual ING Spring Conference June 3-7. Foust will speak on working with today’s media, and share experiences from his storied career.
The conference is open to anyone in the golf or travel industry, and any members of the media who cover golf as part of their work. It is scheduled for beautiful Turning Stone Resort & Casino near Syracuse, and is conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf. Foust received the 1998 Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism for his coverage of the Federal Reserve while a correspondent in BusinessWeek’s Washington bureau. He has appeared on CNBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and The News Hour with Jim Lehrer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The ING Spring Conference at Turning Stone once again will focus on developing beneficial relationships in business. The very popular ING One-On-One Appointment Show returns for a fourth year. The appointment show provides attendees a platform for private meetings to encourage business relationships.
The Appointment Show is followed by the ING Demo Lab, where companies large and small display their golf equipment, training aids and other products on the range and practice greens so attendees can test them at their leisure. Tour Edge Golf, among others, will be launching a new product at this event.
The Small Groups Topics Breakfast will be held on Monday morning, June 4. Topics will deal with advertising, multi-media promotions, e-mailing, public speaking, state of the golf industry, golf & fitness, teaching and technology and more.
Also on the diverse ING itinerary will be job skills enhancement workshops, the ING Media Awards banquet and fashion show, the opening night Golf Expo & Reception, and speaker Jack Peter from the World Golf Hall Of Fame.
Two afternoons of golf events will be conducted, including the USA World Qualifier for the International Pairs World Finals. The winning ING duo in this net points contest will represent the USA in the I.P. World Finals in St. Andrews Scotland July 1-3.
