Sun Mountain has made continual improvements to its patented, original Speed Cart V1. New improvements for 2008 include an upgraded console tray with magnetic lid, padded valuables tray, a bungee scorecard holder, swiveling drink holder and a mesh headcover tray. The 2008 model also includes new upper and lower bag brackets to secure a golf bag without the use of bungee cords or straps, and a lower bag rest and bag bracket that fold with one easy motion. The 2008 Speed Cart V1 got an updated look, too, with black anodized wheels and spokes. Colors for 2008 include metallic blue, metallic red, metallic orange, metallic lime, metallic silver, yellow, pink, and metallic black with silver wheels.
Some other notable improvements since originally introduced in 1999 include a hand brake that locks for parking, adjustable front-wheel alignment for perfect tracking, and folding bag brackets for even smaller folded footprint. At the same time, there has been an ever-growing list of standard accessories to include a tire pump, and an umbrella holder on the cart handle for an open umbrella, and on the cart frame for umbrella storage when not in use.
