HARVEST, Ala. (May 7, 2007) – Balance-Certified Golf, an acclaimed shaft tuning system which uses strategically-placed weights tailored to individual golfers’ needs, congratulates Scott Hoch on his first Champions Tour victory, which came Sunday at the FedEx Kinko’s Classic at The Hills Country Club in Lakeway, Texas. Hoch, 51, won using Balance-Certified Golf’s weighting system in a Bobby Grace putter with a Frequency Filter shaft, built for him just last week. With a 15-under total of 201, Hoch, who underwent wrist surgery in 2005, shot a 68 in the final round, finishing two strokes ahead of D.A. Weibring. Hoch required only 26.3 putts per round with an average putts per green in regulation of 1.658.
"We heartily congratulate Scott on his first-ever Champions Tour win," said Jeff Lindner, president of Balance-Certified Golf. "Scott is a longtime user of Balance-Certified Golf’s Pro-Balance shaft weighting system, and continues to benefit from the precision and enhanced performance our technology offers."
Hoch, who has been using Balance-Certified Golf technology since 2002, serves as lead technical advisor for the company, providing analysis and input on prototype designs and validating the performance of products.
"I have been playing some of the best golf of my career since I began my association with Balance-Certified Golf’s Pro-Balance line," Hoch said. "This system helps me slow my hands down and make more consistent contact with the ball."
Balance-Certified Golf, which is in use at many custom clubfitting programs in the U.S. and abroad, was selected among the ‘Best of Show’ products by Golfing Magazine in its "2007 PGA Show Wrap-Up." Balance-Certified Golf is in use by many tour players, and is garnering praise for how its attention to golf club vibration and feel leads to more satisfied golfers of every playing ability. Tour players who use the Balance-Certified Pro-Balance system include Tom Jenkins, in addition to Scott Hoch. Phil White, long drive champion, also is a devotee of Balance-Certified Golf. Golfers all over the world who are being introduced to the Balance-Certified Pro-Balance system have a chance to experience the immediate improvement in shotmaking and feel that the system produces.
Balance-Certified Golf’s industry-leading back-weighting technology was developed by a former NASA engineering team in 1999. The Pro-Balance line introduces strategically-located weights that can be used to adjust a golf club’s vibration and response characteristics and can be installed on any brand of golf equipment and any club in the bag. Balance-Certified’s scientific approach to golf club dynamics helps transform "feel" into a definable and tunable parameter. Independent testing has demonstrated that the Balance-Certified Golf system delivers increased ball speed in drivers, greater iron play control and a tangible benefit in "feel" and distance control of putters.
Balance-Certified Golf’s Pro-Balance weighting system and power rings can be installed by club fitters or by individual golfers with the self-fit kit. Balance-Certified Golf systems can be found at many retail golf shops across the U.S. and elsewhere.
