Complimentary High-Tech Wireless Devices Will Enable Spectators to Follow Tournament Action
ATLANTA, May 8, 2007 — Golf fans attending the AT&T Classic, May 14 – 20, at TPC Sugarloaf, will experience some new and exclusive high-tech perks — courtesy of the tournament’s title sponsor. AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced that several new fan amenities will be provided at the upcoming tournament to enhance the on- and off-course experience. These amenities include the AT&T Wireless Caddie, the AT&T Fan Zone and the AT&T Digital Leaderboard at Atlantic Station.
The AT&T Wireless Caddie. With this complimentary AT&T wireless smartphone, spectators will be able to obtain statistics, course maps, pairings, updated tournament-scoring and access AT&T content, games and messaging. AT&T is loaning the devices at no charge to spectators visiting the AT&T Fan Zone at The Classic. Fans will also be able to use AT&T Wireless Caddies at no charge; these will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who visit the AT&T Fan Zone behind the 18th green.
The AT&T Fan Zone. From this high-tech venue, spectators can experience what the true "digital lifestyle" is all about while taking a break from the action. By integrating services and content across the three critical screens that are the most important to consumers — the PC, the TV and wireless phone — AT&T is giving fans a sneak peak at the future of convergence. Fans can demo AT&T broadband products to watch high-definition television, check e-mail, browse the Internet or make phone calls through AT&T broadband and high-speed wireless connections.The 100- x 70-foot area will be strategically located behind the 18th green. Those interested in improving their golf game can receive a personalized swing analysis with the ability to view the full video session from AT&T blue room portal (www.attblueroom.com) in the comfort of their own home. The Wireless Caddies will also be distributed from this location, and fans can purchase additional AT&T services or have one of the company representatives check details of their AT&T accounts.
The AT&T Digital Leaderboard at Atlantic Station. As a way to give more golf fans around Atlanta the chance to get into the tournament action, AT&T is setting up a live digital leaderboard for the duration of tournament at The Central Park of Atlantic Station in Downtown Atlanta. Tickets to the AT&T Classic will be sold on-site, and free transportation shuttles will be provided to the tournament courtesy of AT&T. Fans can also receive a personalized swing analysis and practice putting on the 30 x 20 putting green.
