(Scottsdale, Ariz.) May 9, 2007 – The new TOUR Academy at the TPC Scottsdale provides golfers a unique playing experience on one of the finest courses in the country. The TOUR Academy opened its Scottsdale location earlier this year and offers several Specialty Schools, including its 2-Day Short Game and 3-Day Full Swing Schools.
"With such a wide range of golfers playing today, at various levels of their game, we want to be able to offer beginners, as well as advanced players, a challenge and opportunity to further develop specific skills, our Specialty Schools provide that opportunity," remarks John Stahlschmidt, Head Instructor at the TOUR Academy in Scottsdale. The 2-Day Short Game program includes 10 hours of instruction over the course of two days. Players learn in a small group setting, with a student to instructor ratio of 4 to 1. Daily golf instruction includes bunker play, chipping, putting, pitching, and on course play with the Academy instructor. Also included is a customized, professional club fitting.
For players interested in further developing their golf swing, the TOUR Academy offers a 3-Day Full Swing School. This program also offers a student to instructor ratio of 4 to 1, with 15 hours of instruction over three days.
Players learn to use their long irons and practice driving, course management, and techniques on playing un-even lies. In addition, players will take their new techniques to the green for on course play, while instructors provide expert tips on how to practice more effectively.

The TOUR Academy also offers summer junior golf instruction, along with year-round group and private playing lessons. Also available are a number of customized programs – Elite and Custom Schools, and Corporate Clinics. Instructors at the TOUR Academy can accommodate a variety of different groups and players interested in learning specific techniques.
