(London, UK – April 23, 2007) Thomson, Perrett and Lobb, the international golf course architecture practice founded by five times Open Champion Peter Thomson with partners Ross Perrett and Tim Lobb, reports a busy summer ahead with world-class golf developments underway in the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Egypt.

TPL, which recently relaunched its website (www.tpl.eu.com), has been appointed to work in partnership with HOK, global leaders in innovation for the built environment, to create a championship golf course in a desert community on the outskirts of Al Ain – the second city of the Abu Dhabi Emirate – in the United Arab Emirates.

Tim Lobb, principal and golf course architect at Thomson, Perrett and Lobb, said: "TPL is set to enjoy a great summer. Not only have we been given the opportunity to develop a world-class golf course community at Ain Al Emarat, but our existing projects underway in Turkey and Egypt are in the advanced stages of development and are set to become prominent golf courses in their respective countries."

The London-based practice is currently creating a classic, heathland style course at Carya Golf Club, in the Belek region of Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, a dramatic desert course at New Giza – on hills overlooking Egypt’s ancient Pyramids – and another at El Ein Bay on the magnificent Red Sea coast, just an hour’s drive from Cairo.

TPL’s vision of creating a classic ‘Surrey-style’ heathland course in Turkey is close to realisation, with heather nurseries on the site having already propagated more than 50,000 plants, which will be used to frame and define the Carya course.

"The heather propagation project at Carya Golf Club – under the guidance of Chris Lomas, the course manager at The Berkshire Golf Club in Surrey – will help create a golfing experience that will be unique and unrivalled in the Belek region," added Tim Lobb.

The development at El Ein Bay, near Cairo, Egypt, is set to start construction this summer and will see a 6,100m resort style golf course and practice academy accompany a 120-room hotel, tennis academy and other leisure facilities. The championship golf course underway at New Giza – in sight of the Pyramids – occupies a massive 600-hectare site and will combine luxury residential areas, a five-star hotel, shopping, spa and parks, and is set to be one of the most spectacular courses in the region.

Thomson Perrett and Lobb is currently involved in negotiations to develop golf courses in Russia, the Caribbean and at further sites in Turkey. For more information about current projects or to subscribe to the TPL e-newsletter, visit the newly updated website at: www.tpl.eu.com
