NEW BEDFORD, Mass., May 9, 2007 – As the golf tournament season kicks off across most of the country, AHEAD is taking a leadership role in helping organizations promote their events by offering a new service: a free tournament website with a tournament gift pack order.
"AHEAD has become the tournament headquarters for logo headwear, apparel and accessories, offering tournament directors a variety of options to brand their event regardless of budget," said Jeff Waller, national sales director. "By offering the organization a complimentary tournament website, it is another way for us to help our customers promote and organize their event."
AHEAD offers a FREE 90-day, 5-page website for any 72 piece gift box order, which allows the event organizers to conveniently promote their tournament, disseminate detailed information, list pairings, post results and most importantly, help golfers register to participate. AHEAD produces a custom header for each site and allows the event to customize the information through an easy to use, template interface. "If you can type, you can customize your own web site – it’s that easy," said Waller. AHEAD has dedicated a separate section of their own website, www.aheadweb.com/tournaments, where the links for event websites can be found.
AHEAD also offers an upgraded website option designed to help larger, charitable events. The upgraded option has an auction section where event organizers can promote auction items prior to the event, along with a sponsorship section. The event organizers can use the sponsorship section throughout the year to promote their sponsors with a link to the sponsor’s site. Other upgrade options include the ability to post photos from the event and to have the site remain active for one year, which gives sponsors additional exposure and the event promotion year-round. There is a small fee for the upgraded site along with a minimum gift pack order of 100 gift packs.
"Gift packs are arguably one of the most important aspects of a golf tournament," said Brad Seybert, publisher of Golf Event Magazine. "Not everyone wins a prize or trophy, but everyone receives a gift pack. A great gift pack says a lot about the event, provides value and can ensure future participation. With over a million tournaments held each year, a good gift pack goes a long way in determining the events people choose to play in."
AHEAD offers a variety of gift pack options for tournaments, from small affordable custom accessory kits featuring divot tools, hat clips, ballmarkers and leather items, to elaborate multi-piece apparel, cap and accessory gift boxes for member-guest events. Two of the most popular options are AHEAD’s hat/tee and hat/polo shirt combos featuring the tournament logo embroidered on the hat and shirt, neatly wrapped together. AHEAD also offers custom gift boxes using foil stamping, custom decals, or even a photo. Organizers can choose from a couple different size options for the box along with a combination of a shirt, hat, golf glove, bag tag, divot tool and ballmarker, all sporting the event logo. AHEAD labels the sizes on the outside of the box to make distribution easy.
"It’s not about what you give your guests, it’s about how you present it," said Brian P. Kelley, Head Golf Professional, Lake of Isles, North Stonington, Conn. "When guests register and receive their gift items all in one neat package, it makes quite an impression and sets the tone for a great day."
