Manhattan Beach, CA – May 14, 2007 – VCT Corporation (VCT) announced today that The BoardRoom Magazine, the industry’s leading magazine for private club board members and management, has launched a new companion e-magazine called The Boardroom Briefs utilizing VCT’s Managed E-Publishing service. The new "e-zine" is being offered to all CMAA members as a tool for further educating club leadership on current trends and issues affecting the private club industry.
The BoardRoom Briefs will also serve as the official e-publication of the Association of Private Clubs and Directors (APCD) and will be distributed electronically to club staff and boards nationwide. The new publication will expand The BoardRoom Magazine’s role as a source for expert advice on topics ranging from member communications and marketing strategies to irrigation and club security systems, and will include industry news, as well as product spotlights and magazine-style features on a variety of workplace, career and business topics.
The e-zine is being produced by VCT through its ClubPublisherâ?¢ custom e-publishing service. The move to tap VCT is part of The BoardRoom’s strategy to further strengthen its position as the industry’s leading educational resource – no matter how club leaders choose to get their information.
Kelly Herrera, Vice President of Business Development for APCD and The Boardroom Magazine said: "The addition of an electronic newsletter (or "e-zine") to our print magazine is not only an exceptional value-add to our readers but an opportunity for our strategic partners and preferred vendors to engage with our regular subscribers through a new medium. VCT’s ClubPublisherâ?¢ service provides all the visual attributes, effective navigation, and ease of use that you could ask for. And through their managed service offering, we’re able to deliver a professional e-publication with no additional heavy lifting on our end."
"Producing a monthly e-magazine enables The BoardRoom Magazine to provide longer inspirational and informative editorial in their print publication and compliment it with shorter, more unique and varied content pieces in their e-version. What better way to give your readers a choice in what they want to read, and how and when they want to read it," said Dan Sharry, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at VCT.
John Fornaro, Publisher of The BoardRoom Magazine and President of APCD added: "The BoardRoom Magazine is all about education and pleasing our readers. And what our readers wanted was more – More variety. More convenience. More often. So that’s what we tapped VCT to deliver for us." Continued Fornaro, "We put a lot of value into our brand, and we wanted an e-publishing partner that could create that same level of brand prestige online – VCT has done just that. And we’re very happy with the result."
In developing its ClubPublisherâ?¢ and LoyaltyBuilderâ?¢ e-publishing services, VCT recognized that there are unique challenges presented when trying to develop an e-newsletter or e-magazine for anyone that doesn’t specialize in this area – even a magazine publisher. With its managed-service format, VCT offers to fill the role of in-house e-publisher, saving its customers time, energy and the headaches of a "do-it-yourself environment".
"E-Publishing is just simply a different animal," continued Boardroom’s Kelly Herrera. "An E-Magazine has huge advantages for readers and educators alike. We know what our readers are interested in reading and when they are reading it. The simple and accurate navigation combined with one-click access to other web sites and emails contained in the text means that our subscribers will always have an efficient reading experience AND immediate access to the rich and varied content our writers and strategic partners provide each issue. This media provides a successful marriage of traditional print editorial with online graphics and web innovations."
The May edition of The BoardRoom Briefs email magazine will also be made available online at www.BoardroomBriefs.com
