ORLANDO, Fla., (May 11, 2007) – The NCAA announced today a strategic partnership with Golfweek magazine, to provide in-depth multi-media coverage of the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Golf Championships. Exclusive video content will be made available through NCAAsports.com and GolfweekTV.
"This opportunity provides the NCAA with an additional vehicle that enhances the daily coverage of both the Division I men’s and women’s golf championships and places emphasis on the student-athletes who are competing for national titles", said Greg Weitekamp, NCAA director of broadcasting. "Our partnership with Golfweek will allow us to use new media to provide more in-depth and timely coverage of both championships."
"Given Golfweek’s long history of covering college golf, this kind of partnership with the NCAA is a win-win for both parties," said Jay Coffin, Golfweek’s editor of digital media/video. "The expertise of our editorial staff will greatly enhance the depth of championship coverage at Daytona Beach and Williamsburg. We’re eager to help the NCAA give college golf the broader exposure it deserves."
