Willow Grove Location Grand Opening May 18; Improvement Center Offers High-Tech Instruction
WILLOW GROVE, PA – Just off the official opening of the Berwyn, PA location, GolfTEC will be opening another facility in Willow Grove, PA inside of the Golfsmith establishment at 3875 Welsh Road. A weekend of grand opening events begins Friday, May 18 and will feature free demos and special rates on lesson packages.
The use of advanced technology to aid in golf instruction is sweeping the country and GolfTEC is the leading national chain providing golfers of all skill levels the opportunity to use digital video, impact analysis, biofeedback technology and motion-evaluation computers to develop their swing. Certified personal coaches provide all instruction.
"State-of-the-art technology provides the framework for our approach to golf instruction," said Elizabeth Granahan, PGA Professional, Franchise Owner and Manager of the Berwyn, PA GolfTEC location. "The traditional golf lesson is given by an instructor using only his or her eyes, and possibly video. The GolfTEC method relies on facts recorded by patented, sophisticated equipment that is analyzed by certified personal coaches," furthered Granahan.
Willow Grove location manager and LPGA Professional Stephanie Grubb added, "The combination of the fact-based information and the expertise of our PGA and LPGA members allow us to provide our clients with advanced coaching. "
During a lesson, GolfTEC students wear small sensors that measure key movements throughout the golf swing. One of the certified personal coaches on GolfTEC’s staff analyzes the information and compares it to a database of top PGA TOUR players. The client receives instant feedback to achieve ideal swing parameters. Students can then review video of their lesson with specific follow-up drills and notes through the GolfTEC website.
According to GolfTEC franchise owners Jon Adler, Elizabeth Granahan, Peter Murray and Mike Szkaradnik, who own the Moorestown, NJ location, the recently opened Berwyn, PA store as well as the Willow Grove, PA facility, GolfTEC incorporates other aspects of golf into their instruction to produce better players, not just golfers with a better swing. The "TEC" in GolfTEC stands for Technique, Equipment and Conditioning. Instructors provide guidance on how to make the body better suited for golf and provide custom club fitting.
"Golfers love the GolfTEC system because it’s so easy to visualize and understand what needs to be improved. They also enjoy the flexibility of our lessons – weather and darkness don’t affect our ability to give instruction," said Murray. "Improvement time is cut dramatically with our system so students see scores drop quickly. And the online component allows students to access their video footage and practice techniques from home, work or on the road," added Szkaradnik.
