CHATSWORTH, CA. – Amateur golfer Fred Groth of El Segundo, CA won his first major long drive competition at the Texas Shootout in Trophy Club, TX. He stunned spectators by dominating the event. Using the Alpha C830.2 Plasma driver, he drove 366 yards in rainy weather to capture first place.

The wet conditions and seasoned competition of the Texas Shootout proved to be minor hindrances for Groth as he led throughout the entire event. "Alpha drivers are incredible for distance and forgiveness. But what sets them apart is the consistency and durability I get with them," says Groth. "No matter what the conditions are, I trust my Alpha drivers to provide the confidence I need."

"When young phenoms like Fred get an Alpha driver in their hands, their drives go from good to great" says Dr. Jim Yeh, chief designer and president of Alpha Golf. "Our driver designs and material technologies are specifically engineered with the finest titanium grade materials, forging processes, and face design elements to provide incredible forgiveness and maximized distance."
