Tour Players Rally to Support Cause on Mother’s Day

Marlborough, MA-May 15th, 2007 – CHAMP Spikes today announced that more than 125 PGA and LPGA Tour players participated in their inaugural Pink-On-The-Linksâ?¢ program supporting breast cancer awareness. Participants at The Players Championship and the Michelob ULTRA Open wore the highly visible pink and white Stinger spikes to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

At the TPC Sawgrass in Ponta Vedra, FL, the count was as high as 35 players who wore the pink and white commemorative spike, while the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, VA, featured 100 players who took to the course in the spikes designed to raise awareness of breast cancer. As a result of the success of the program CHAMP has pledged to make a donation to the BCRF.

The commemorative pink and white spikes, a variation of the widely popular black and yellow Stingerâ?¢ seen weekly on tour, were developed by CHAMP for the special Mother’s Day tribute. The Stinger, already hugely successful on tour, is made with green friendly, dual density plastic to provide golfers with maximum traction, comfort and stability. The special construction allows for cushioning on hard surfaces and superior traction on soft surfaces.

"This kind of participation in the first year of our Pink-on-the-Links program is fantastic," said Harris MacNeill, President of CHAMP. "I would like to personally thank everyone involved in making this program such a success. It speaks volumes for the spirit of the players who participated. Taking part in something like the Pink-on-the-Links program makes everyone a winner. I am already looking forward to 2008 to see if we can surpass this year’s success."

CHAMP Spikes has already begun plans to make next year’s Pink-on-the-Links program even more successful than 2007.
