#1 Brand on Tour has Successful Weekend Winning on Every Major Tour
Marlborough, MA-May 21st, 2007— On a weekend where the second leg of the Triple Crown was run, CHAMP Spikes tallied a trifecta of its own, capturing wins on all three tours. Golf fans didn’t need Street Sense to realize this was one of CHAMP’s biggest weekends to date, with wins on the PGA, LPGA, and European PGA Tours.
Georgia was twice as nice for the reigning Masters Champion who took home the AT&T Classic Championship at TPC Sugarloaf. The winner was wearing the CHAMP Cermec, the ultimate in metal spike performance as he shot a birdie on the first playoff hole for the tournament title. The winner shot a final round 67 including a birdie of the 18th hole in regulation to capture his second title on the year and CHAMP’s twelfth title on the PGA season.
The LPGA’s number one golfer took home her 11th career title, defending her Sybase Classic Championship as she finished an astonishing 18-under for the win. The champion sported the CHAMP Scorpion Stinger as CHAMP Spikes dotted the leader board, including five of the top ten finishers.
Across the seas in Ireland, CHAMP Spikes was victorious at the Irish Open. The champion battled through mud and unsightly greens to win on the first playoff hole after shooting a final round 71. The winner wore CHAMP’s CDT spike, specifically made for Hi-Tec footwear, to provide breakthrough directional traction with its elongated legs for the unpredictable terrain. The winner was the first Irishman in twenty-five years to win his home country’s tournament.
