Furyk Runner-Up and Lehman T-5th

ATLANTA, May 29, 2007 – At a rain-soaked Colonial hampered by weather delays that pushed the completion of the third round until Sunday morning, three were perched on top of the leaderboard after 72 holes. Srixon’s staff professional Jim Furyk fired three birdies on the back nine to earn a spot in the first three-way playoff for the Crown Plaza Invitational at Colonial. Furyk, No. 3 in golf’s world rankings, needed a birdie on the first extra hole, but just missed his 34 foot putt and ended up settling for second place. Srixon’s ball staff professional Tom Lehman fired rounds of 66-67-68-68 to finish T-5th. Srixon’s Tim Clark finished 9-under and T-12th.

Furyk, showing pinpoint accuracy during the week with the combination of the Srixon’s Z-URC golf ball and I-506 irons, lead the field in birdies and greens in regulation. He was also No. 1 in sand saves using a Srixon forged wedge. Furyk’s second place finish earned him $528,000 and his third top five finish of the year.

Lehman, who won at Colonial in 1995, made 19 birdies over the four days with the Srixon Z-URC golf ball en route to a solid fifth place finish. Tim Clark, armed with a brand new set of soon-to-be-released Srixon forged tour grind irons and Z-URC golf ball, also had a good week with opening rounds of 65 and 64, finishing T-11th. In fact, his second round 64 saw him hit all 18 fairways and all 18 greens in regulation. Srixon has four players in the top-20 in the FedXCup standings, (John Rollins – 8th, Jim Furyk – 14th, Henrik Stenson – 16th, Robert Allenby – 20th).

On the Nationwide Tour, Srixon Staff Professionals Jaco Van Zyl and Kyle Thompson recorded Top 5 finishes of their own at the Melwood Prince George’s County Open, a new event on the Nationwide schedule. Van Zyl, playing Srixon’s Z-URS golf ball, I-506 irons and forged wedges, started the final round in a three-way tie for the lead and fired a final round 68 to finish tied for second place. Playing the Z-URS golf ball and I-506 irons, Thompson closed with a 2-under par 70 to earn his best finish of the season, a tie for 5th.
