TEMECULA, Calif. — With a high-performance design and classic styling, the new Akira API Forged irons have been selected for exclusive member testing by the PGA TOUR Partners Club, North America’s largest club of golf enthusiasts. The new Akira API Forged irons, designed for better players, have received high-praise for superior performance and extreme feel since their recent debut in the U.S. market.
"The PGA TOUR Partners are highly restrictive on what golf equipment ever receives testing, so we’re naturally very pleased our Akira API Forged Irons made the grade," says Mike Matheny, president and CEO of Eastern Golf Company, exclusive United States distributor of Akira products. "Precision shot-making was the primary focus in the design of the new API Forged Irons, and no other forgings can replicate their soft feel."
The Akira API irons have taken forged, shot-making performance to a new level and are unlike any other forged iron design in golf today. With innovative engineering on the club surface and beneath, the Akira API clubheads are forged from mild S-20C steel which enhance the feel of the ball at impact, plus the Akira design features precision milling on every clubface within the set to exact tolerances. Beneath the surface of the attractive chrome finish, Akira engineers also incorporated a layer of soft copper plating which produces further cushions impact and delivers an incredibly soft feel at impact.
Through creative technologies and new design concepts such as stabilizing beam structures, hyper-steel manufacturing and variable face densities, Akira Products Co. has worked relentlessly in developing clubs that provide maximum satisfaction to every golfer. Akira has also collaborated with many of the world’s most respected graphite shaft manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Graphite Design, Fujikura, Mamiya-OP and others.
Akira API Forged Irons are available in sets of 3-iron through PW, with Nippon steel shafts.
