Now Junior Players Can Learn Where the Pros Play
(Scottsdale, Ariz.) May 31, 2007 – New TOUR Academy at the TPC Scottsdale is hosting a TOUR Academy Jr. Summer Camp program. This is the first junior summer program offered by the TOUR Academy here in the Valley since opening this past January. Camps will be led by seasoned golfer and Head Instructor for the TOUR Academy, John Stahlschmidt.
The Jr. Summer Camps are for junior golfers ages 7-16, co-ed, and are available from June through August. Campers attending this summer will be taken through a variety of golf instruction including full swing and short game instruction, as well as skills like driving, putting, chipping, and bunker play.
"Our summer program is geared to the junior golfer at any level, looking to improve their game," says John Stahlschmidt, TOUR Academy Head Instructor. "The TOUR Academy summer program provides players a well-rounded experience, teaching basic golf fundamentals, as well as etiquette and game rules."
Campers also have the opportunity to experience the state-of-the-art video swing analysis, where junior players can be split-screened against their favorite PGA or LPGA pro. In addition, players will receive a copy of their swing video to take home and use as a tool to continue training.
Camps provide junior players with a student to teacher ratio of approximately 5 to 1. Instruction takes place Mondays -Thursdays, from 8:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Dates available include June 4-7, 18-21; July 9-12, 23-26; and August 6-9. Cost for attending the TOUR Academy Jr. Summer Camp is $199 per player. Reservations for camp instruction can be made through the City or Scottsdale by calling 480-312-7957.
On the final day of camp, players will participate in a graduation party and each will receive an embroidered hat and golf towel to take home.
