Jim Furyk and Proforce V2 Capture No. 1 in Driving Accuracy

FORT WORTH, Texas — The world’s most innovative graphite shaft manufacturer, UST® (United Sports Technologies) pleased the home crowd this weekend as Jim Furyk captured second-place at the Crowne Plaza Invitation at Colonial playing a UST Proforce V2 graphite shaft. However, even more impressive was the 12-year Tour veteran’s uncanny driving accuracy with the V2.

With a V2 shaft in his driver, Furyk ranks No. 1 on the PGA TOUR in Driving Accuracy Percentage, hitting a tour-leading 75.31 percent of fairways played this season.

"The Proforce V2 is one of the most consistent and accurate graphite shafts in golf today, and it delivers a level of performance in drivers and fairway woods that is simply unmatched," says Jim McIntosh, tour representative for UST. "The V2 provides excellent results for players looking for added carry distance and a stable feeling in the hands, and the V2 has earned high praise from some of the world’s best players."

The low-torque characteristics of the Proforce V2 optimize performance today’s 400cc to 460cc driver heads and larger fairway woods, which often increase hit-ability for golfers. However, in most of these larger heads, the head’s center of gravity (CG) has been moved further away from the center line of the shaft, a factor which places more stress and causes more twisting on the shaft. The V2’s low torque design provides the power and control needed for 400cc to 460cc heads, plus the V2 prevents clubheads from twisting open on impact, reduces the amount of back spin imparted onto the ball and enhances shot dispersion.

UST continues to lead in the graphite shaft industry with innovative technology, and that’s why world-renown pros such as Jim Furyk, Davis Love III and Rod Pampling — among many others — put their trust in UST high-performance shafts.
