FORT WORTH, Texas — The leading innovator among graphite shaft manufacturers, United Sports Technologies® (UST) proudly introduces the first truly high performance graphite shaft specifically engineered to enhance play with high MOI (Moment of Inertia) clubheads — the all-new Proforce V2 MOI graphite shaft.
For serious players who demand accuracy, yet still have a grip-it and rip-it mentality, the new Proforce V2 MOI shaft provides ultimate stability, improved control and tighter shot dispersion.
"We’re excited to introduce the all-new Proforce V2 MOI shafts," says Gene Simpson, vice president of sales and marketing for UST. "Shaft stability is a critical factor with high-MOI clubheads, and UST engineers have improved shaft control by precisely positioning the balance point in a slightly higher location which offsets the head’s heavier weight and narrows shot dispersion."
UST’s latest addition to the popular Proforce V2 shaft series is the direct result of extensive testing with today’s high MOI drivers. The V2 MOI weighs in at 73-grams, yet this counter- balanced shaft feels and plays more like a 60-gram shaft, creating a stable platform that puts the weight in the butt section – the hands – and allows the strongest players to aggressively swing through the ball without worrying about shaft lag or droop. The V2 MOI uses the same ultra-high modulus materials and tour-proven technologies found in all Proforce V2 models, and features the tightest tour tolerances in the industry plus tour-proven Proforce tip technology. MSRP $125.
The diverse characteristics of the Proforce V2 Series shafts optimize performance today’s 400cc to 460cc driver heads and larger fairway woods, which often increase hit-ability for golfers.
However, in most of these larger heads, the head’s center of gravity (CG) has been moved further away from the center line of the shaft, a factor which places more stress and causes more twisting on the shaft. The original Proforce V2 offers a low torque design that provides the power and control needed for MOI heads, with a slightly softer feel in the hands. The Proforce V2 MOI achieves torsional stiffness and stability through its counter- balanced design, one that offers a firmer feel in the hands with a slightly higher ball flight. The Proforce V2 High Launch is a shaft designed to help players with slower tempos square the clubhead while helping achieve a slightly higher ball flight, as compared with the original Proforce V2.
"Today, innovation is the real key to shaft performance," adds Simpson. "World-renown pros such as Jim Furyk, Davis Love III and Rod Pampling — among many others — put their trust in UST high- performance shafts and the new V2 MOI is a great example why."
