GolfTEC Set to Reach Milestone in June
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -GolfTEC announces the official opening of their 100th Store in June of 2007 when GolfTEC West Las Vegas opens for business on June 15th. Offering high-tech golf instruction with certified personal coaches, superior swing technology and a proven teaching approach, GolfTEC has found overwhelming success in markets across the U.S.
"We began small with big dreams, and this achievement alone is proof of how successful we have been in expanding quickly to offer our unique golf lessons to people across the country," says CEO Joe Assell. "GolfTEC teaches approximately 8% of all golf lessons given in the United States today, and all of our locations combined give well over one thousand lessons each day. We currently have over 275 PGA Teaching Professionals on staff, and are actively recruiting even more to fill our upcoming locations."
After opening their first location in Denver, GolfTEC moved on to the Chicago area to begin expansion. In 2003, GolfTEC offered their first franchise initiative, and GolfTEC Irvine became the first operating franchise location in early 2004. GolfTEC also partnered with Austin-based golf retailer Golfsmith in 2004, reaching a co-location partnership where GolfTEC stores are housed inside of Golfsmith locations.
"Several events conspired to get us to the size we are today, beginning in 2001," says Assell. "We reached a capital investment agreement with the Gart Capital Partners first, and from there we were able to begin offering franchises and reach the agreement with Golfsmith. We give a lot of credit to all three of these ventures in helping us to get where we are today."
GolfTEC’s rapid growth will continue over the next several years, and plans to open around fifty stores per year for the next several years. There are currently locations in 24 states, and 39 major markets, and many more markets are already in the works for future locations.
