Doral, Fla., June 6, 2007 â?¦ Doral Golf Resort & Spa, A Marriott Resort, one of the world’s premier resort golf destinations, today announced that Nathan Stith has been named the Director of Golf Operations. Stith will be responsible for overseeing golf operations for Doral’s 5 Championship golf courses on property, including golf shop operations, retail merchandising, outings and tournaments, and preparation for Doral’s PGA TOUR event, the WGC-CA Championship.
Stith, a PGA Golf Professional and veteran of Marriott Golf, has been a part of the Doral golf team since 2004, most recently serving as the Resort Head Golf Professional. Prior to coming to Doral, Stith worked in a variety of positions at some of Marriott’s premier properties throughout the world, including The Ritz Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes, in Orlando, FL; Stone Mountain Golf Club, in Stone Mountain, GA, and Los Sueños Golf & Ocean Resort, in Playa Herradura, Costa Rica.

In related news, B.J. Simpson, who most recently served as the Golf Shop Supervisor at Doral, has been promoted to the position of Resort Head Golf Professional. Simpson will work closely with the GM of Golf and Director of Golf to manage all aspects of the golf operations, as well as golf shop retail management at the resort.
Prior to joining the golf team at Doral, Simpson served as an Assistant Golf Professional at Maple Bluff County Club in Madison, WI. Simpson is a graduate of Methodist College’s Professional Golf Management Program (PGM).
