LEXINGTON, Ky. — The PCS and iClub are pleased to announce a joint partnership which will research the needs of golf equipment professionals in order to further develop custom-fitting solutions for the industry.
The PCS is the only non-profit independent international association of golf equipment professionals, and they are committed to helping golfers improve their game. IClub is the leader in wireless motion capture and focuses on the success of golfers of all levels.
"Through the use of iClub’s technology, evaluation becomes immediate, the fitting process can be faster and more effective for the fitter and the golfer", commented Don Radcliff, Certified Advanced Golf Equipment Professional and President of the PCS. "The iClub provides valuable insight into the selection of club configurations and how they affect the golfer’s swing, we’re looking forward to working together to develop solutions for the fitting industry."
The iClub, which can be attached to the end of the grip of any club, sends data wirelessly to a personal computer where the information can be viewed in a 3-D perspective of the club in motion. Statistics and summaries can also be viewed and all swing data is saved from every swing and session, allowing for a history of swing and fitting data. The iClub Advanced Putting System provides unprecedented access to the emerging field of custom putter fitting.
"The iClub is an invaluable and versatile technology for both the fitter and the golfer," says Stacey Arbetter, PCS member and iClub user. "It can be used for any club in the bag both indoors and outdoors. Unlike video, the iClub provides detailed quantitative swing information that the fitter can present to the golfer in a less intimidating format. The golfer is always amazed to see how professionally fitted clubs can improve their swing dynamics and repeatability-especially with putters. The feedback is immediate and it builds a tremendous amount of confidence in the golfer both in his abilities, and the value of custom fitted clubs."
"iClub will be working closely with PCS members to develop the next generation of software based on the needs of the club fitter and maker," says Cory Costantino, iClub Vice President of Product Development. "We’re committed to helping fitting and club making professionals stay competitive and on the cutting edge of their business."
iClub enables golfers of all abilities to achieve their best performance levels. Innovative technology, coupled with the insight of leading researchers and teaching professionals, has produced a family of products that remarkably changes the golf learning process. The company, created by a core group of MIT-researchers and students, offers the iClub System, including the iClub(TM) and Body Motion System. The iClub was recently co-host of the Second Annual Better Golf Through Technology Conference (http://www.bgtt.org) held at MIT. For more information, visit http://www.iclub.net
