Gayord, MI (June 6, 2007) – Treetops Resort may not be hosting the Par 3 Shootout again until 2008 due to a one-year hiatus granted by the PGA TOUR, but that does not mean golf fans cannot still experience the excitement the event has brought for the previous eight years.
Where were you on July 30, 2001 when Lee Trevino was making history at Treetops Resort by striking the single most lucrative shot in golf history earning him a total of $1,090,000 after the closest to the pin and the skin validation. On June 25 – 26, Treetops Resort is giving golfers a chance to experience what Lee Trevino experienced by simply playing the #1 ranked Par-3 course in the nation.
Every guest who plays a round on Threetops on Monday, June 25th or Tuesday, June 26th will have the opportunity to win $10,000 should they ace the 150 yard 7th hole, "High Five", that Lee Trevino made so famous. The best thing about this opportunity is that the The Ryder Group, who has insured this event, will pay $10,000 for every hole in one made over the two days, not just the first.

Participation is simple. Golfers who come to Treetops and play the Threetops Par 3 Course on either June 25th or June 26th will have a chance to win $10,000.00 with one-swing of the club on hole #7. However, in true Treetops’ style, the fun doesn’t end there. Three other holes will be insured for additional prizes including a Taylor Made R7 Superquad Driver, a vacation package at the Peabody in Memphis, TN, and a vacation package at Treetops Resort. The Treetops golf professionals will also be conducting a "Beat the Pro" contest on the famed Hole #7 giving golfers the chance to double their money in golf shop credit should they hit their shot closer than the pro’s shot.
In addition, Treetops has developed a special "High Five" Shootout Package, which includes one night’s lodging and a round on Threetops for only $99.
