TMaG Tour Staff Professionals to Showcase the Logo on Hats and Custom Staff Bags at the Tournament

CARLSBAD, Calif. (June 7, 2007) TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company has produced a limited quantity of special edition bags and hats that each feature a commemorative logo specially designed to honor the 2007 U.S. Open and its location, Oakmont Country Club. TaylorMade-adidas Tour staff professionals will showcase the logo on their hats and bags during the season’s second major championship.

The special edition logo, created by TaylorMade’s design department, blends elements from U.S. Open history and from Oakmont Country Club, the site of this year’s tournament:

â?¢ Acorn symbolizes the many oak trees at Oakmont

â?¢ Church Pew represents Oakmont’s famous "Church Pew" bunker that comes into play on the third and fourth holes

â?¢ "8" a reference to the fact that this year marks the eighth time the U.S. Open has been held at Oakmont

â?¢ "HF" the initials of Henry Fownes, who designed Oakmont in 1903

TaylorMade Tour professionals will use a distinctive bag during the tournament week, with red as the primary color and TaylorMade in white lettering in its customary side panel position. The front pocket features the commemorative logo and the player’s name stitched on a black background, with the TaylorMade logo and the American flag also on the front. The special edition logo is also prominently featured on the upper side panels and on the rear pocket. A white ring along the bottom of the bag features the phrase "Summer 2007" with the American flag.

"TaylorMade first created special edition hats and bags for the 2003 Masters. The idea was conceived to pay respect to the four major championships and show our reverence for their history, their venues and their champions," said Craig Barez, creative director for TaylorMade-adidas Golf. "At every major, the players look forward to see what we’ve come up with and our new staff professionals are always impressed by the efforts we take for the major championships. We take a great deal of enjoyment and pride in every aspect of it creating the logos, choosing the colors, distributing to the players, and giving the proceeds of the autographed bags sales to a great cause like the First Tee."

Two special edition bags are created for each Tour Staff player for each major. After the event players keep the bag used in the tournament and autograph the other; autographed bags are sold to a private collector and the proceeds are donated to The First Tee (www.thefirsttee.org), a World Golf Foundation youth development program that has introduced golf and its life-enhancing values to more than 1.5 million young people since 1997.
