Adams Hybrids Fill The Leaderboard On The Nationwide Tour
PLANO, TEXAS, June 11, 2007 – Adams Golf equipment has been the choice of winners and top finishers at two of the last three PGA TOUR events. The winner of last week’s Stanford St. Jude Championship played an Idea Pro Hybrid (18 degree) and the second-place finisher carried two Idea Pros (17 and 21 degree) in his bag. This comes two weeks after each of the top three finishers at The Colonial played a combination of Adams Golf hybrids, drivers and fairway woods.
The tournament champion won for the third time in his PGA TOUR career with a blistering final round of 62 to blow away the rest of the field with a 5-stroke victory. His score was the best final round on the PGA TOUR this year. "I’m a very old fashioned, feel type player," said the 43-year-old tour veteran who started using the Idea Pro at the Nissan Open in February. "When it feels right, I know I’m in good shape."
Adams Golf continued its equipment surge on the PGA TOUR by accounting for over 27 percent of all the hybrids in play, according to the Darrell Survey. The Idea Pro, again, was the most widely used Adams product at the tournament, with some of the pros putting the new Idea a3 Boxer Hybrid in their bags. In fact, five of the Boxer Hybrids were put in play last week.
NATIONWIDE TOUR
Along with the top two finishers on the PGA TOUR playing the Idea Pro, the champion of the Rex Hospital Open played two of the hybrids en route to his first Nationwide Tour win. The Idea Pro was the #1 hybrid played at the event and it was the obvious choice for most of the players in the Top 10:
