New John Sanford design located on dramatic Florida terrain.
OCALA, FL (June 12, 2007) – Not since the creation of the vaunted and exclusive Jupiter Hills Club in 1970 has a dramatic new private golf club created so much anticipation in Florida. Juliette Falls Golf and Spa Community, scheduled to open in October 2007 in the Ocala countryside, will rival and surpass the hilly, sandy terrain for which Jupiter Hills is known with memorable holes that play up and down through pine, oak and palmetto forests.
Juliette Falls, designed by Florida-based golf course architect John Sanford over 546 acres of wildly dramatic land, will be the centerpiece of a private golf and spa community. Property owners will enjoy exclusive membership to the 7,300-yard, par-72 golf club: a rolling parkland design highlighted by four waterfalls. Mature trees and flowers will create a tapestry of visual richness.
"Elevation changes combined with heavy live oak and pine forests and the four magnificent waterfalls are going to keep our residents and members challenged and interested everyday," said Tom Cioffi, director of operations for Juliette Falls Golf and Spa Club. "With limited homes on the interior of the golf course and an excellent practice facility, John Sanford has designed a dramatic and enjoyable golf course."
Sanford has completed more than 60 new golf course design and renovation projects in his career, having worked in Asia, the Caribbean, the Middle East and throughout the United States.
"Our main philosophy was to be gentle on the land. At Juliette Falls we went out on 546 acres and found the best golf holes," said Sanford. "We were able to then create the routing and master plan around those great locations. The property has tremendous movement, so we were able to establish nice corridors with large, mature oak trees to frame the holes with good angles of play off of each tee; which makes for very strategic holes. We also had a great budget and great people to work with. It’ll be better than Jupiter Hills."
Homes at Juliette Falls Golf and Spa Community will range in price from $599,900 to over $1.5-million, including lots and furnishings. The golf membership initiation fee structure has yet to be finalized.
"Residents and members at Juliette Falls will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere in which they’ll feel peaceful, secured and pampered. The clubhouse amenities will include a full spa component with treatment rooms, relaxation areas, salon, retail store, health food restaurant, complete fitness component as well as two other casual and upscale restaurants, media room, full banquet facilities, a zero entry lagoon style pool and complete golf related appointments. Away from the hustle of the big city and yet close enough to enjoy its amenities," said Cioffi. "Ocala is centrally located with easy access to Orlando, Tampa, Daytona, Jacksonville, Gainesville, the Gulf and the Ocean."
Ocala, Florida, in Marion County, is bisected by Interstate 75, Route 301 and U.S. Highway 441; about 60-minute’s-drive north of Orlando. Marion County is very equestrian, the area features rolling terrain similar to that of Kentucky bluegrass horse country. Also offered in Juliette Falls is a 136-acre Nature Preserve and Wildlife Conservation area with five miles of groomed trails for walking, jogging and biking.
Plus the area offers some of the best fresh water bass fishing and off shore fishing in the state. You will feel the elegance and comforts of Arthur Rutenberg homes in the community. This will be one of the first Florida communities to be "dual energy:" All homes will have electric and propane gas. Every home will come standard with a propane generator, full home automation systems, and home security systems.
