"Golf Event is a revelation: a smart and authoritative magazine."
Cleveland, OH – Golf Event magazine was honored as the Best Trade Publication in Ohio at the 29th Annual Ohio Excellence in Journalism Awards ceremony. Presented by the Press Club of Cleveland the ceremony was held June 22, 2007, in Westlake, Ohio.
The award was based on the 2006 publication year and judges comments in bestowing the award included: "For readers who’ve never given a moment’s thought to how the typical golf tournament comes together, Golf Event is a revelation: a smart and authoritative magazine full of helpful advice for people who find themselves drafted to host a charity golf event. If the ultimate standard for a trade publication is how well it helps its readers solve their problems, Golf Event deserves an A-plus."
"Receiving this award for our first year in publication is truly an honor and only helps to solidify what we’ve heard from readers and others in the industry – that the publication is effectively filling a much-needed niche," says April Miller, editor. "Yet, we are not content to rest on our laurels and will continue to bring readers the tools and resources they need – both in print and online – to help take their golf events to the next level."
Launched with the February/March 2006 issue, Golf Event magazine is the resource for golf outings and events. Published bi-monthly, the magazine is targeted to the golf event, outing and tournament industry. Readers (32,000+ circulation) are golf event managers, event planners, golf course professionals and club managers as well as those responsible for corporate or charity golf events.
The publication provides readers with invaluable insight from industry experts, updates on products and services, destination spotlights, planning tools and much more. From the latest trends in golf to what’s hot in food and beverage, Golf Event provides readers the tools to make their events successful. Plus, every issue includes a topical resource directory. Golfeventmagazine.com offers subscribers additional resources and information.
"With more than 1 million golf outings held in the United States a year, but yet not one resource for those who are planning those events, we felt that there was an opportunity to provide those planners with the tools and resources that can help them make their events more effective," says Brad Seybert, publisher. "Golf Event provides a medium for companies who provide products and services for golf outings and events, to reach the people who plan them. It is Golf Event’s goal to continue to be THE resource for golf outings and events by identifying and developing products to help the golf event planner make their events memorable."
