SANTA ANA, CA – June 27, 2007 – Futures Tour players who attended the recent Geneva National Aurora Challenge in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, did more than just compete on the golf course, they gained valuable information and skills to access their strength and finesse both on and off the course. Katherine Roberts, founder of Yoga for Golfers and GolfGym Fitness Consultant, instructed players on how to maintain strength, flexibility, and balance, especially while on the road.
The program is part of the "Foundation 4 Success" initiative on the Duramed FUTURES Tour. This program is designed to compliment the Tour’s mission to prepare players for a career on the LPGA Tour. The program correlates with the LPGA’s "Five Points of Celebrity," and brings in guest speakers throughout the season to address the five focus areas. Roberts was brought in to speak under the "Performance" category.
"This program is so exciting and fits in perfectly with what I do," commented Roberts. "I have always had the drive to follow my passion, and for me to be asked to coach these ladies about how to follow their passion was a real honor for me. I was able to teach them that passion combined with action are the keys to success."
Roberts taught players specific Yoga for Golfers moves and strength and flexibility techniques using the portable GolfGym PowerSwing Trainer. According to Roberts GolfGym is the perfect way to maintain strength and conditioning on the road. The patented PowerSwing Trainer is a unique training and conditioning tool designed to develop proper swing habits and muscle memory, improve club control and shot accuracy, build strength to add distance, and develop better balance and posture.
"The players thoroughly enjoyed Katherine and learned a great deal about Yoga For Golfers and GolfGym as a way to nurture and develop balance and fitness in the golf swing, and in life," said Abby Pearson, Manager Marketing Promotions for Duramed Pharmaceuticals, Inc. "Her presentation was engaging and her enthusiasm captured the audience. These young players are eager to learn how to stay healthy, lower their scores, and earn their card to the LPGA Tour. Katherine made a significant contribution to their efforts and we are very appreciative."
