ATLANTA, GA (June 27, 2007) – More than 8,000 boys and girls 12 and under are expected to compete in U.S. Kids Golf tournaments this summer, making the Atlanta-based equipment manufacturer also host of the nation’s largest collection of competitive events for juniors.

"We believe positively reinforced competition is the engine that makes golf fun for kids and helps them develop not only their skills, but also a love for the game," said Dan Van Horn, founder and president of the 10-year-old company.

U.S. Kids Golf events include 28 Summer Local Tours in cities across the U.S., from Los Angeles to Miami. Local Tours consist of eight one- day events designed to give youngsters opportunities to develop their golf skills and test their games in tournaments near their hometowns.

The tournaments are played on regulation courses where tees have been positioned closer to the hole to promote enjoyment of the game, better scoring and competition.

Players earn points based on their finish at each Local Tour event.

The player with the most points in each age and gender group at the end of the Tour season is named Player of the Year and can receive an exemption to the 2008 U.S. Kids Golf World Championship.

U.S. Kids Golf World Championship Qualifiers are being conducted throughout the U.S. and in Puerto Rico in June and July. Youngsters are competing for spots in the prestigious U.S. Kids Golf World Championship at world-renowned Pinehurst Resort. Fifty-five qualifiers will be held in 39 states with the winner of each age and gender group who meets the scoring requirement earning an invitation to the World Championship. The World Championship is the world’s largest golf tournament for juniors under the age of 12.

The eighth annual World Championship is expected to attract more than 1,200 players from the U.S. and more than 30 countries.
