Family Tee Boxes, Family Golf Package, Kids Golf-4-Free & The QOLF Game Highlight New Family Golf Program At Northeast’s Premier Resort Destination
Galloway, New Jersey, June 27, 2007 … Seaview Resort & Spa, A Marriott Resort, one of the premier golf resorts in the Northeast, today unveiled the Seaview Family Golf Program, a series of family-friendly activities designed to promote togetherness, and to grow the game of golf for players of all levels. Encompassing the new program are specially designed Family Tee Boxes, an exciting new Family Golf Package, Marriott Golf’s Kids Golf-4-Free initiative and QOLF â?¦ the exciting new off-course family golf game.
Family Tee Boxes
Seaview, which boasts 36-holes of championship golf and is one of the region’s oldest and most prestigious golf destinations, is highlighting its new Family Golf Program with the installation of Family Tee Boxes on both the Bay and Pines Courses. These tee boxes enable families to play the course together, while also providing separate tee-off areas for Mom, Dad and the kids; thus transforming Seaview into a true family golf destination. Specific for kids, Seaview has created a special scorecard that accompanies play from the new tee boxes, allowing kids to record their own scores and compete alongside of Mom and Dad. These new tee boxes not only enhance play for junior golfers, but they also improve Pace of Play on the courses by making the championship layouts kid-friendly and playable for families.
Kids Golf-4-Free/Kids Rent-4-Free
Supporting family golf at Seaview is Marriott’s acclaimed Kids Golf-4-Free Program, which allows kids 15-years old and under to golf for free when accompanied by a full paying adult after 3:00 p.m. In addition, the program also offers free lessons anytime to kids 15-years old and under when accompanied by an adult who is taking a fully paid lesson from a Seaview golf instructor. Additionally, Seaview is unveiling an extension of the program, Kids Rent-4-Free, whereby all kids receive free rental clubs when playing golf.
Family Golf Package
To encourage families to participate in, and enjoy the game of golf together, Seaview has created the 2007 Family Golf Package. For just $40, less than a cost of a night out at the movies, a family of four can enjoy a 9-hole round of golf after 5:00 p.m., on either the Bay or Pines courses. Kids receive free rental clubs, as well as a Seaview logoed golf ball, while parents can rent a set of the new Callaway X-20 golf clubs for just $20 extra.
The QOLF Course At Seaview
Complementing the on-course golf initiatives, Seaview has become the first resort in the U.S. to adopt the QOLF Game, a unique cross between golf and croquet. Created in South Africa, where its popularity is paramount, QOLF has evolved into a widely accepted leisure activity for golfers and non-golfers alike. QOLF comes with three color-coded arches (orange, blue and red) that are utilized as frames. The objective is to hit a specially designed plastic QOLFball through each of the frame arches within a minimum amount of strokes. As part of its Family Golf Program, Seaview has created two QOLF courses on property for families and non-golfers who may not want to venture out onto the championship courses. Moreover, as QOLF provides a test of accuracy, touch and skill, it is an ideal tool for short game training, as golfers and beginner players can hone their chipping skills and hand-eye coordination.
