SANTA ANA, CA – June 28, 2007 – Spreading the word about golf fitness has been a goal of Ken Pierce’s for over 20 years. As the founder and president of GolfGym, his mission is to help people learn to get out of their own way and get more "golf fit." You can only imagine how pleased he was when he heard that a new publication was coming out that was going to focus specifically on golf fitness. He’s even more pleased to have been selected as a contributing writer for the newly launched Golf Fitness Magazine.
Golf Fitness Magazine, which is making its national debut this July, was created to get more people into the game and keep them playing longer. Founder and publisher Steve Gomen hopes to use the publication as a vehicle to lead golfers from all generations to a happier, healthier and longer golf life.
"I am grateful to Steve for allowing me to add my "two cents" to the mix," commented Pierce. "I hope to present some levity, opinions, motivation and specific exercises to help my fellow golfers enjoy the game more by playing better. We at GolfGym believe if you enjoy the game more, you will play better, and if you play better, you will enjoy the game more."
Because of the potential impact Golf Fitness Magazine will have on both the golf public and golf industry, Gomen has established an advisory board of experts in both the fitness and golf industries to form an editorial direction for Golf Fitness Magazine. In addition, he has developed a staff of award-winning writers and editors to make this editorial direction come to fruition.
"Ken is one of the pioneers in the golf fitness industry," says Gomen. "We realize it takes a well-rounded team of experts to produce a golf fitness magazine of the magnitude we want and we’re happy to have Ken on board as part of our editorial team. His expertise and insight will be a valuable contribution to the content of the magazine."
In 1987 Ken, along with a golf professional and a sports physiologist developed the original GolfGym® PowerSwing Trainer, a golf-specific training aid. Since then, GolfGym has been the leader in golf fitness and continues to develop and promote the most effective, affordable, portable and efficient golf-specific training and conditioning products in the market today. Ken has recently developed his original "Golf Fitness Made Simple" program which focuses on game improvement by becoming more "golf fit" utilizing GolfGym products and positive motivation.
Golf Fitness Magazine will include an assortment of articles and feature stories covering topics such as exercise, conditioning, nutrition, mental focus, fitness products, heath issues, massage and more. In addition, the magazine will also provide readers with interesting features on fashion, travel, philanthropy, history and traditions that are the spirit of the game.
"Golf Fitness Magazine is committed to keeping people in the game for a lifetime." says Gomen. "We believe that more players, playing longer means greater sales of golf-related products and services. It is our goal to keep the golf industry and golfers healthy for years to come."
