Cleveland Golf Introduces Visual Performance Putters

July 5, 2007

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA…Cleveland Golf is pleased to announce the introduction of the VPâ?¢ putter line. This new series of putters incorporates Dual Axis Alignmentâ?¢ technology to aid players who typically struggle with improper alignment and an inconsistent putting address position.

Engineers at Cleveland Golf have learned that one of the major contributors to missed putts is misalignment. "Unlike most sports, where the eyes are positioned directly behind the target, the putting stroke positions the eyes to the side of the target," said Adam Sheldon, Business Unit Leader at Cleveland Golf.

"Unless a player’s eyes are positioned directly above the balls center and on the intended target line, visual misperceptions will occur." Most golfers compensate by adjusting their swing path or address position, which will lead to greater inconsistency in the putting stroke, as well as added sidespin onto the ball.

Dual Axis Alignment technology allows golfers to determine when their hands move out of position and to detect when their eyes are not directly over the ball. By addressing these two issues, VP putters help to increase impact consistency while improving distance control for a truer roll on the greens.

As an added level of customization, all three VP putter models are available in standard, flat and upright lie configurations. The MAP pricing on the VP putter is $109 for blades and $129 for the mallet and will be available to ship on July 1, 2007.
