Angus Glen Chooses Patented Technology From GPS Industries
Vancouver, CANADA – GPS Industries, Inc (GPSI) (OTC BB: GPSN.OB), the world’s leading provider of WiFi-enabled GPS management systems and targeted on-course advertising, is pleased to announce the installation of their Inforemerï?¢ Golf Management System at award-winning Angus Glen Golf And Conference Center in Markham, Ontario. Angus Glen is widely regarded as one of the most successful daily fee golf operations in North America and, in 2007, plays host to many of the PGA Tour’s best players during the Canadian Open July 26-29.
Angus Glen is a 36-hole facility and each course was awarded Golf Digest’s Best New Canadian Course honors when they opened for play: the South Course in 1995, and the North Course in 2002. The South course was the site of the 2002 Canadian Open and this year’s event will be staged on the North Course.
Due to a high volume of tournament play, Angus Glen has an exceptionally large fleet of 212 carts and all have been enhanced with the Company’s 10.4-inch Inforemer-HD displays. The facility will further leverage Inforemer’s unique Wi-Fi infrastructure to provide wireless internet access to golfers and conference guests throughout the facility.
"We always strive to improve," said Angus Glen President Kevin Thistle. "We are fanatical about the details and nothing escapes our attention. If we recognize an opportunity to improve our operation, our service, or our guest experience we will pursue it. Implementing the Inforemer GPS system was another step in our continual evolution. It is simply the best system available, for our guests and our golf staff."
"The owners investigated all the option’s and recognized the superiority of our Informer system," said GPSI Regional Sales Manager Dave Hodgson. "Tournaments and events are critically important to Angus Glen so our Tournament Management software – and our HammerHead tablet PC — help maximize the value of this part of their business."
Other leading courses in the region that have also chosen GPS Industries’ Inforemerï?¢ technology include: 27 hole Mill Run, 45 hole Deer Creek, Glen Cedars, Hidden Lake, and the John Daly designed Thundering Waters near Niagra Falls.
