World No. 2 Finishes Third – Srixon’s Allenby Sixth
ATLANTA, July 9, 2007 – Jim Furyk is in mid-season form recording his fourth top-5 finish in his last five starts. Furyk fired rounds of 66-74-68-69 at Congressional Country Club in the inaugural AT&T National to finish 3-under par, giving him a share of third place. Srixon’s Robert Allenby also played well over the weekend with rounds of 69-68 to leap him into a T-6th.
Furyk continues to drive the Srixon Z-URC golf ball straight, leading the field last week in driving accuracy. His iron play has also been strong, hitting 75% of greens in regulation using his Srixon I-506 irons and forged wedges. Robert Allenby averaged last week 318 yards off the tee with his Srixon W-403 driver and led the field in greens in regulation using his Srixon I-506 irons and Z-UR golf ball.
Furyk and Allenby have recorded seven top-10s each this year, which is the most on tour in 2007. Furyk’s third place finish helped him regain his No. 2 position in the World Golf Rankings and moved him to No. 7 on the PGA Tour Official Money List with earnings of over $2.7 million. Allenby moved up 3 spots to No. 22 on the money list with earnings of over $1.7 million.
