LAKE MARY, FL – The Mike Bender Golf Academy and the Timacuan Golf Club will host a fund raising Pro-Am tournament to benefit families of victims of the recent airplane crash in nearby Sanford, FL, last week that killed four and injured several others.
The golf tournament and clinic is set for Friday, August 3 at 8:30 a.m. at Timacuan, and is open to anyone. Cost per player is $100 (golf professionals play for free). ALL proceeds will be donated to the families of this tragedy to help rebuild their homes, aid in medical expenses and help them through this time of need. Price includes breakfast, golf and a lunch buffet.
The Timacuan golf course, clubhouse and staff support for the event are being donated by Kitson & Partners Clubs, owner and operator of Timacuan and several other Orlando area golf courses.
This will be a Pro-Am event, with each team consisting of one Professional golfer with four amateur players. Format will be a scramble for amateurs, with professionals playing their own ball (team may use professional’s score). There will be various contests and prizes, including cash prizes for the top three professionals.
Teams may bring their own professional, or one will be provided if necessary.
A Mike Bender exhibition clinic will kick off the event. Bender is the teaching coach for Masters champion Zach Johnson, two-time U.S.
