SILVIS, Illinois (July 23, 2007) – John Deere and the Ladies European Tour for the first time have entered into a two-year agreement that would make Deere the tour’s "Official Supplier of Golf Course Machinery."
The official agreement was finalized recently at the Tournament Players Club Deere Run, site of the 2007 John Deere Classic, an annual PGA Tour event.
"John Deere is very pleased to announce the beginning of what we hope will be a fruitful and long relationship with the Ladies European Tour," said David Thorne, director of sales and marketing for Deere’s Commercial and Consumer Equipment division for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. "John Deere is proud of its longstanding relationship with the U.S. PGA Tour and hopes its relationship with the LET will continue to grow."
The agreement enables Deere to support the LET by providing its tournaments with the most modern agronomic maintenance equipment, utility vehicles, and irrigation products with the goal of helping produce the best possible quality playing surfaces. Deere officials also will work closely with the LET’s agronomist to this end.
"The Ladies European Tour is pleased to enter what we know will be a mutually beneficial relationship with John Deere," said LET commercial manager Becky Brown. "We know the enduring strength of the John Deere brand is based on the quality of its products and customer service and the Ladies European Tour is proud to be associated with it."
The agreement will be supported by Deere’s European Golf & Turf dealer network.
Under the agreement, Deere will have a logo presence on the LET website and other promotional considerations.
