Company Namesake to Conduct Exhibition, Greet Fans, Sign Autographs
(CHICAGO, Ill.) – On Monday August 6, PGA TOUR legend Billy Casper will sign autographs and conduct short game exhibitions which are free to the general public at George Dunne National Golf Course in Oak Forest from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Whisper Creek Golf Club in Huntley from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
With 51 career wins on the PGA TOUR, Casper ranks seventh on the all- time victories list behind only Sam Sneed (82), Jack Nicklaus (73), Ben Hogan (64), Arnold Palmer (62), Tiger Woods (57) and Byron Nelson (52). Winner of two U.S. Open titles (1959, 1966) and a green jacket (1970 Masters champion), Casper possesses one of the golf’s most legendary short games, which will be on display at the Chicagoland courses.
Casper has a great fan base in the Chicagoland area from his prolific record in the Western Open which he won four times. (1965, 1966, 1969 and 1973)
More information about the events is at www.forestpreservegolf.com and www.whispercreekgolf.com or by calling Cook County’s Forest Preserve Golf system at 708.429.6886 or Whisper Creek Golf Club at 847.515.7682.
"We are thrilled Billy Casper is coming to these Chicago area courses," says Bill Rehanek, Senior Vice President of Billy Casper Golf, which manages George Dunne, Whisper Creek and 14 golf facilities in the Chicago area. "Billy’s wit, anecdotes from his playing days with his fellow legends, and golf ambassadorship will be a great treat for those who attend these special appearances."
From 1964 to 1970, Casper had one of golf’s most impressive playing records, winning more tournaments than "The Big Three" – Nicklaus, Palmer and Gary Player – combined.
"I am excited to let golfers know that we greatly appreciate their playing the courses managed by our company," says Casper. "I also have a lot of fans and friends in the area from my playing days, and I can’t wait to see everyone."
