PLANO, TEXAS, July 30, 2007 -Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) Tour Staff Pro Tom Watson captured his third Senior British Open title with an even- par score at Muirfield in Gullane, Scotland. This was Watson’s third Senior British Open win in the last five years and his 49th victory throughout his PGA and Champions Tour career. He has now won five senior major championships to go along with his eight majors on the PGA TOUR.
Known for his ability and success playing on Scottish links, Watson enjoyed the less-than-perfect conditions. "The weather was right up my alley, good blowy conditions, a little rain hear and there," said Watson. "The beauty of the place, I felt very comfortable."
He was able to distance himself from the rest of the field on Sunday after grabbing the lead early with a display of impressive ballstriking typical of his legendary career. Watson played a full bag of Adams Golf clubs including two Idea Pro Hybrids (18 and 20 degrees), the Idea Pro Forged Irons, Tom Watson 56 and 60-degree wedges, an Insight BTY 3-wood and the Redline RPM Dual Driver (9.5 degrees).
Watson’s win adds to an incredibly successful month of July for the Adams Golf Tour Staff with a victory at the U.S. Senior Open by Brad Bryant, R.W. Eaks’ first-career win at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open and now the British Senior Open. This also marked the eighth win on tour for Adams Golf in 2007, including victories on the Champions, Nationwide and LPGA Tours.
