Tournament Champion Plays Idea Pro Hybrid, Insight BTY Fairway Wood
PLANO, TEXAS, July 30, 2007 – Last week’s Canadian Open marked the ninth PGA TOUR event of the 2007 schedule that Adams Golf hybrids ranked #1 on the official Darrell Survey equipment count.
Additionally, the tournament champion played an 18-degree Idea Pro Hybrid to go along with his Insight BTY 3-wood.
With 40 in play, it was the highest number of hybrids in play for Adams Golf at a single PGA TOUR event. In comparison, only 17 Adams Golf hybrids were in play at the 2006 Canadian Open. The dramatic swing from 17 one year to 40 the next is directly attributed to the increasing popularity and high-performance of the Idea Pro Hybrid.
Along with winning 9 hybrid counts on the PGA TOUR this year, Adams Golf hybrids have ranked #1 on the Champions Tour for 49 consecutive events (dating back to 2005) and #1 on the Nationwide Tour for 31 consecutive events (dating back to August 2006).
"Hybrids are everywhere now. The days of hybrids for slower swing speeds only are over. The best players in the world with the best swings in the world are replacing their 3 and 4 irons with these clubs," said Max Puglielli, director of tour operations for Adams Golf. "The demand for our hybrids has never been higher and it’s a direct correlation with how they perform at the crucial moments, when these guys are trying to win tournaments."
Along with the Canadian Open champion, Adams Golf hybrids have been in the bags of the AT&T National champion, the Colonial champion, the winner of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, and the St. Jude champion.
Nine Nationwide Tour champions carried Adams Golf hybrids in their bags as well, along with eight winners on the Champions Tour.
