Tamarack Resort (Central Idaho) and the Wood River Ability Program co-hosted a group of injured Iraq and Afghanistan veterans that was flown in from the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. At the end of the six-day whitewater raft trip on the Main Fork of the Salmon with Idaho Adventures, Tamarack Resort and the Cascade American Legion invited the group to the resort for a welcome reception, a night at the resort, mountain biking and golf on the award-winning, Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed Osprey Meadows course.
The Wood River Ability Program is a group of outdoor recreation leaders based in Idaho, which is focused on helping United States military amputees develop new skills in outdoor recreation.
"It’s an honor for us to welcome these courageous and dedicated people to Tamarack Resort for some relaxation and entertainment," says Ken Rider, Director Resort Sales/Marketing. "This is a small but heartfelt way in which we can honor them for their selfless efforts and service to others."
